COMBINATIONS FOR HAIR LOSS AND BALDNESS IN ASTROLOGY

Scientifically , good hair growth is determined by three factors, the skin, the hair follicles and the proteins that sustains the hair growth.Astrologically these three are controlled by the benefic planets such as    by  the benefic planets such as Mercury, Venus and Jupiter. It must be recalled here that Varahamihira considers the signs of  benefic planets as helping in hair growth and the signs of malefic planets having a role in hair loss. However he considers two benefic signs as susceptible for hair-loss. They are Taurus and Sagittarius.

                                              vedic astrology hair loss and baldness, planetary secrets for hair loss and baldness,astrological combinations for hair loss and baldness, astrological remedies for hair loss and baldness,which planet causes hair loss and baldness,Causes of hair loss and baldness, how to control hair loss and baldness,

According to Brihad Jataka (23-15), if birth falls in malevolent signs or in Sagittarius or Taurus and is aspected by evil planets, the person will be bald headed. The lagna falling in the signs of malefics such as Mars, Sun and Saturn must be devoid of evil afflictions for lasting hair growth on the head. Among the other signs, Taurus and Sagittarius ruled by Venus and Jupiter respectively must also be devoid of malefic afflictions to avoid baldness.The reason can be rationalized on the basis of Baadhak lords for respective signs. The Malefic signs run the element of risk in upsetting the appearance due to the malefic lords. Aries signifying the head is associated with the fiery planet Mars. Sun is the natural significator for hair growth. But both sun and Mars are bilious planets.Excessive bile nature is one of the main causes for hair loss. So the three signs Aries,Scorpio and Leo come under the scanner.

The other two signs of malefic lordship are Capricorn and Aquarius. The lord Saturn is associated with early aging. Premature graying and early thinning of hair are the legacy of Saturn.

 Saturn’s importance can not be undermined because it becomes the governing planet of the fetus in its
 6th month of growth. Hairs start appearing in the 6th month of the fetal baby. Perhaps a research on the transiting Saturn in the 6th month of the fetus with the natal lagna (once the baby is born) might give an early idea about the appearance connected with hair growth.

In the 5th(preceding) month, the fetus gets good growth of the skin which is governed bythe planet moon. This shows how the skin and hair develop in stages one after theother and how astrology has related well the respective planets to detect the kind of appearance one gets. Moon, particularly the Navamsa moon tells about the skin color and appearance supplemented by the hair growth on body and the head.

Among the signs of benefic lords, Gemini and Virgo are the favorable ones for beautiful appearance of hair. The lord is Mercury who is associated with earthy nature (prithvitattwa). According to classical texts, birth in earthy nature ensures good and healthygrowth of hair and nails. Mercury is the planet of prithvi tattwa which is also associated with skin. The Baadhak lord for both the Mercurian signs is a natural benefic namely Jupiter. Jupiter which aids in growth and is responsible for good assimilation of protein products (protein is essential for hair growth) can not upset the Mercurian contribution to hair growth.

As for Cancer, Moon is the influencing agent for hair growth. The hair-curt is recommended only in connection with the this (moon’s movement around the  earth) and therefore moon can not upset its native. Moreover the Baadhak lord for Cancer is Venus which is a first rate beauty conscious planet.

This leaves out  the signs of Venus and Jupiter.
For Taurus, the 9th lord Saturn becomes the Baadhak making the sign vulnerable. For Libra the significator for hair (Sun) himself is the Baadhak. Unless Sun occupies adversarial locations, the Librans need not worry.

For Sagittarius and Pisces, Mercury becomes the Baadhak. But Varahamihira has sound edcaution only for Sagittarius and not for Pisces. It may be because; Sagittarius is associated with good appearance of hair whereas Pisces is not. Since Mercury’s impact is dependant on whom he is associated with, one can not give a clean chit to it that it would not upset the Sagittarians.This is the basic nature of signs in influencing hair-loss.
POSITION OF LAGNA
Lagna is the primary determinant for the appearance including the nature of hair growth.Both the luminaries add luster to the appearance. Both of them are connected with hair growth. In the following positions they adversely affect hair growth.
  • Sun in the lagna or in Navamsa lagna
  • Sun in the 7th from the lagna / Navamsa lagna .
  • Moon in Aries or Leo in rasi or Navamsa makes the thinning of hair.
  • Moon in Taurus gives short hair.
  • Weaker sun and / or moon in the lagna of Drekkana and Trimsamsa also add to the hairy woes.
 POSITION OF NAVAMSA

The following lagna position in Rasi and the corresponding Navamsa shows tendency to lose hair or thinning down of hair.

Lagna In Rashi                                Lagna In Navamsa

  Aries                                                          Gemini
 Cancer                                                     Capricorn
 Leo                                                                Leo
Scorpio                                                     Sagittarius
Capricorn                                               Cancer

The following lagna – Navamsa positions are helpful for good appearance of hair.

Lagna In Rashi                                Lagna In Navamsa

Taurus                                                         Gemini
Taurus                                                         Cancer
Taurus                                                         Leo
 Gemini                                                      Capricorn
 Cancer                                                      Cancer
 Leo                                                                Cancer
 Scorpio                                                      Virgo
Sagittarius                                              Aries
Sagittarius                                             Cancer

Generally Navamsa lagna and Navamsa moon determine the appearance of a person. If the Navamsa lagna falls on the houses of benefics without afflicted by malefics, the person will have good growth of beautiful looking hair. The following are withreference to only Navamsa lagna as given in “Brahma Rishi Vaakyam".

If the Navamsa lagna falls in the sign of Sun (Leo),no need to worry about balding.The person will have thick and curly hair growth. The American President Barack Obama has Navamsa lagna in Leo, but has sun in the 7th in D-1. The sun is strongand auspicious in the other divisional charts (D-3 and D-30). So we have to do acombined reading. Sun in the 7thwill certainly give a receding hairline but its strength in other charts with Leo as Navamsa lagna will not give him undue baldness. The hair thickness had come down early in his life. The spoilsport is Saturn which is in its own sign in both D-1 and D-9. It is posited in lagna in the rasi. So he must have started graying early. People and the media are thinking that it started only after he assumed office.
If the Navamsa lagna falls in the sign of Moon (Cancer),there must be worry about hair on the head. There will be more hair on the body but thin hair on the head! Early balding comes with lagna in Cancer in D-9 and D-3 and D-30 (unless the rasi lagna falls in the above mentioned signs that are favorable for growth of hair.)

If the Navamsa lagna falls in the sign of Mars (Aries and Scorpio), there is a strong chance of balding.This is a major pointer to baldness as per texts. There is no differentiation between these signs as being fiery or watery. That it is lorded by Mars is the sufficient cause for the hair loss. A famous bald person in this category is Mahathma Gandhi. His Navamsa falls in Scorpio.
If the Navamsa lagna falls in the sign of Mercury (Gemini and Virgo),the person will have beautiful hair.

If the Navamsa lagna falls in the sign of Jupiter (Sagittarius and Pisces),once again the same feature as above. Usually the Navamsa lagna in the houses of benefics ensure beautiful and good growth of hair.If the D-9 lagna falls in the sign of Venus (Taurus and Libra), same as above.
If the D-9 lagna falls in the sign of Saturn ( Capricorn and Aquarius),dull and thin hair would grow. Early graying is also seen.
 REMEDIES

Though astrological remedies for baldness are not found in classical texts, we can draw a clue for the remedy from the root cause assigned to this problem. The Sun is the major contributor to hair-loss. As such there are Ayurvedic solutions based on Sun’s planetaryattributes. The planetary essence of pitta must be neutralized by lime products. If the prospect of losing hair is identified early in life from the horoscope, one can take proper medication and substitutes from Ayurveda to avoid hair-loss. Astrologically speaking,appeasement of Sun by way of worship of Sun God and recital of slokas such as Aditya Hridaya  can be done from an younger age.

ROLE OF PLANETS IN DEPRESSION

Depression is a state of low mood and aversion to activity that can affect a person's thoughts, behavior, feelings and sense of well-being. Depressed people may feel sad, anxious, empty, hopeless, worried, helpless, worthless, guilty, irritable, hurt, or restless. They may lose interest in activities that once were pleasurable, experience loss of appetite or overeating, have problems concentrating, remembering details, or making decisions, and may contemplate or attempt suicide. Insomnia, excessive sleeping, fatigue, loss of energy, or aches, pains, or digestive problems that are resistant to treatment may also be present.

                              astrological combinations for depression,role of planets in depression,how to cure depression, cause of depression, how to overcome depression, tendencies for depression,scientific reason for depression, which planet causes depression,role of moon to cause depression, how to analyse depression and suicidal tendancies from horoscope,

Depression is very common now a day. Everyone experiences depression and stress in  life. But we soon come out from this state due to our thinking process and efforts. It becomes a serious matter if depression punches very often and a person becomes the victim of it. Tendency of depression can  be analysed from a horoscope.

First house in a horoscope is called ascendant and it represents mind and the manner in which mind thinks and works.

Moon plays very important role in our life as it governs our emotions. Fourth house is the house of mental peace, happiness and comforts.

Astrologically speaking, a person will suffer from depression in the following conditions:
  1. If Moon is badly placed in his horoscope.Especially if moon is placed in dusthanas  i.e. in 6th, 8th or 12th house;
  2. If Moon is in conjunction with the malefic planets( saturn, mars or sun);
  3. If moon is afflicted: ie if nodes, Dragon's Head (Rahu) , Dragon's Tail ( Ketu )are with moon  or aspect Moon;
  4. If saturn aspects moon;
  5. If Moon has Papakartri yoga , ie if moon is hemmed between two malefic planets
  6. If Moon has Kemudruma yoga, ie if moon is placed alone in a House with no other planets on either side of it;
  7. If Moon is posited with Sun. In this case Moon loses its power and fails to give desired results;
  8. If along with Moon, ascendant is badly affected either with placement or with aspect of malefic planets;
  9. If 4th House is imperfect i.e. it has no power. If the 4th House or its Lord is under the influence of malefic planets, the native will usually suffer from depression and stressful life.
  10. Saturn is the karaka of sorrow and depression. If it is placed in or aspecting 4th house, native may become a victim of depression.  - See more at: http://www.theastrojunction.com/2012/03/depression.html#more
    Saturn in another karaka for sorrow and depression.If it is placed in or aspecting the 4th house,the native becomes a victim of depression.

REMEDIES
  1. If Moon is weak and badly placed, perform remedies of Moon and wear Pearl or Moon Stone with the consultation of an astrologer;
  2. If 4th House is weak or its Lord is under the influence of malefic planets, remedies to strengthen 4th house should be undertaken;
  3. Ascendant and its Lord should be given more power by wearing stones.
  4. Worshipping Lord Shiva or offering water to Shiva Linga has always shown favourable results.

A STUDY ON GULIKA

Gulika holds an important position in the evaluation of a natal chart.  It is also called as Maandi, like Rahu and Ketu, has no physical existence. But it always makes a difference in the natal chart output. Gulika is generally considered the most malefic entity in a chart. According to the set standards of assessment of maleficence, it surpasses all natural malefics. Gulika enjoys a special status almost like an independent planet, and in strological classics it is considered as a minor planet or subplanet. In the traditional astrological practice, the Gulika-Kundali (a horoscopic chart, with houses reckoned from the position of Gulika) used to be an essential component of the Janma-patri (the scroll carrying the horoscopic details of a native, according to the traditional system of making horoscopes in India).

Gulika = Maandi ="slow, stupid, loitering"

  • Similar in density to Rahu-Ketu, Gulika has no mass and is therefore undetectable with the material eye.
  • It is however vividly obvious to the psychic eye located in the Ajna chakra at the point between the two material eyes.
  • Gulika = traditionally believed to be a highly malefic influence, which very much slows things down.Hence its moniker 'manda' = 'slow', 'feeble', or 'weak'
    gulika, maandi, mandi,importance of gulika,importance of maandi,gulika in vedic astrology, maandi in vedic astrology, raja yoga from gulika or maandi, effect of gulika or maandiin houses, results of gulika or maandi in houses,gulika or maandi with natural karaka, gulika or maandi with planets,gulika or maandi and accidents, gulika or maandi and death,gulika or maandiand progeny,gulika or maandi in special lagna, remedies for gulika or maandi,gulika or maandi in upachaya houses,Gulika be in a kendra, a trikona, or be strong, in its own house, or in exaltation or in a friendly house,

"Gulika is beneficial in the upachaya houses - 3rd, 6th, and 11th. In karma bhava [10th] Gulika develops public religious behaviors, especially a visible devotion to tapasya (austerities)."
In Vedic astrology, Gulika and Maandi are considered synonymous although some people try to differentiate between them. Gulika denotes a certain segment of timecontrolled by Saturn. The word `Maandi' is derived from Manda or sluggish, another name of Saturn

The position of Gulika is different for daytime (from sunrise to sunset) and night time (from sunset to sunrise). The duration of the day or of the night (as the case may be) is divided into eight parts. The segment belonging to Saturn is known as Gulika. For daytime, the first segment (the first one-eighth of the night) belongs to the planetary lord of the weekday that falls fifth from the weekday under consideration. The subsequent segments belong similarly to other planets that rule the weekdays in natural order. The eighth part here too is without a lord.In each case the part belonging to Saturn is called as Gulika.

The segment of Saturn during the day or during the night would have some duration. Some people think that the ending moment of Saturn's segment is the time to calculate the position of Gulika. They determine the ascendant for the ending moment of Saturn's part; the cusp thus obtained is considered the `longitude' of Gulika.That is: The cusp of the sign rising at the beginning of the Gulika segment is considered as Gulika-from this the chart must be analysed.

Gulika and Ketu - Fear from bad characters and criminals.Suffer from burnts or native may be a person dealing with fireworks.

Gulika can alter the results of other planetary yogas in the chart. All good yogas are lost when the birth time and the Gulika-Kaala coincide together with another inauspicious factor like Mahapaata, Gandanta, Visha-Ghati, etc.

• Gulika in houses 1, 5 or 9 authorises the lagna lord to disburse the maraka effect during its dasha.
• Trouble results during the dasha of a planet that happens to be an associate of Gulika in the rashi chart.
• Severe troubles are also likely during the dasha of any planet associating with Gulika in the navamsha or the dwadashamsha charts.
• Specially adverse results ensue during the dasha period, of Jupiter or Saturn when they associate with Gulika in the navamsha, or the dasha of the Sun when it associates with Gulika in the dwadashamsha, or that of the Moon associating with Gulika in the Trimamsha chart.
• The Pramaana Gulika deserves the same treatment as Gulika (vide supra).
• The transit of Saturn and Jupiter over the navamsha sign lord of Gulika, that of the Sun over the Dwadashamsha sign lord of Gulika, and that of the Moon over the Trimshamsha sign lord of Gulika, put the native in trouble.
• All trikona (1, 5, 9) rashis should be considered in application of transits.
GULIKA AND ACCIDENTS

• Gulika is extremely important as an active killer in Vedic astrology. It is used in the judgement of longevity, along with dasha and transit.
• The lagna, the Moon and Gulika falling in Dwiswabha (dual) or Sthira (fixed) signs prompt multiple ailments and fatality. In Chara (movable)signs, it leads to good health and long life.
• The lagna, the Moon and Gulika falling in mutual trikonas in the navamsha chart, particularly in rashis 4, 8 and 12 are fatal. Such a native is disease prone and accident prone.

GULIKA AND PROGENY

• Gulika in the fifth house, particularly in rashis 3, 6, 10 and 11, leads to lack of children.In such a situation, the native is likely to have some defect in his generative organs.
• Gulika may ensure successful conception when:
(i) Gulika and the Moon are in the same sign;
(ii) Gulika is with the fifth lord;
(iii) Gulika is aspected by the fifth lord;
(iv) Gulika in the other sign of the fifth lord;
(v) Navamsha lords of Gulika and the Moon are related mutually.

• A successful conception results when Jupiter transits the times of Gulika rashi or Gulika
navamsha rashi. When Gulika is in any of the first six rashis (Mesha to Kanya),consider the transit of Jupiter from the Gulika rashi. When it is in the last six signs (Tula to Meena), consider the transit from Gulika navamsha rashi.

GULIKA IN SPECIAL LAGNAS

• Gulika in houses 1 or 7 in the Pada Lagna causes grey hair, ill health and serious disease of the stomach.
• When AK and Gulika occupy the Karkamsha lagna and both are aspected by the waxing Moon, there ensue losses from repeated theft.
• The native dies of poisoning if Gulika in Karkamsha lagna is not aspected by any planet.It may be noted that the same aspects, as applicable to the natal chart, are to be applied to all the special lagna charts like Karakamsha, Pada, Upa-pada, Navamsha, etc.

RAJA YOGA FROM GULIKA

The dispositor of Gulika, a its navamsha lord, placed in a kendra or trikona, or in its own sign or in exaltation, mollifies the adverse effects of Gulika and gives yoga effects, though its lethal propensity (markatwa) would remain intact.That is: Let the Gulika be in a kendra, a trikona, or be strong, in its own house, or in exaltation or in a friendly house. A potent Raja-yoga results from this disposition.

IMPORTANT RESULTS

• Gulika in the first house most certainly reduces the good results of the chart. The impact is maximum in malevolence when the cusp of the lagna and the Gulika are close in degrees. This means that birth taking place at the commencement of the Gulika-kaala suffers the maximum affliction. In such a situation, the Raja-yogas or other benefic yogas lose their potence. That is: Determine all adverse results from Gulika's association.

• When the nakshatra of the lagna and Gulika are mutually trinal, the basic benevolence of the lagna nakshatra lord (LNL) is lost. Nakshatras 1, 10 and 19 are mutually trinal.

• Gulika spoils the benefic significations of most of the houses by occupying them. Thus, all troubles ensue when Gulika occupies the lagna. In the second house, it curtails family comforts and financial savings. Poor social status results when Gulika occupies the fourth house. In the fifth, it leads to troubles from progeny. And so on.

• Of all the sub-planets, Gulika and Yamakantaka (the subplanet represented by Jupiter's segment) surpass all others in maleficence and beneficance respectively.

• Only in houses 3, 6, 10 and 11 does Gulika generate benefical results. In the tenth house, however, it indicates delay in getting established in a career.

• The good results of Gulika (from its placement in the above houses) are lost when the rashi and navamsha lords of Gulika are neecha (debilitated) or combust.

REMEDIES

The evil of Gulika must be neutralised by prescribed remedies.Parashara recommends that one should worship lord Shiva regularly in the evening, bow down to the Sun and lord Vishnu in the morning, and light a holy lamp of ‘ghee’ before a Shiva temple. This would defy the evil arising out of an adverse disposition of Gulika.

IMPORTANCE OF PRAYER

The word prayer or prārthanā (in Sanskrit) is derived from two words ‘pra’ and ‘artha’ meaning pleading fervently. In other words, it is asking God for something with intense yearning.

Prayer includes respect, love, pleading and faith. Through a prayer a devotee expresses his helplessness and endows the doership of the task to God. Giving the doership to God means that we acknowledge that God is helping us and getting the task done. Prayer is an important tool of spiritual practice in the generic spiritual path of Devotion.

The very act of prayer implies that the person who is praying considers the power to whom one is praying to as superior to oneself. Hence by praying a person expresses his helplessness and surrenders to the higher power and pleads for help. This is a blow to the individual's ego as praying implies that one is looking for help from a higher mind and intellect than one's own. Thus by praying frequently we transcend our limited mind and intellect and access the higher Universal Mind and Intellect. Over a period of time this contributes to the dissolution of our mind and intellect. Thus, frequent and sincere prayers for spiritual growth help in the dissolution of mind, intellect and ego.

BENEFITS OF PRAYER

Improves spiritual practice: Prayer impacts our spiritual practice at three levels, action, thought and attitude:

Enhances the potency of chanting the Name of God: A seeker chants the Name of God with the aim of realising God. Only if accompanied by intense motivation for God realisation and spiritual emotion will the Name repeated (chanted) be truly effective. One Saint would be so engrossed in chanting the Name of God that He would become oblivious to the world. One rarely finds someone who can chant the Name of God with such intense spiritual emotion. However, repeated prayers about being graced with quality chanting, along with chanting the Name of God, helps in generation of spiritual emotion and makes our chanting reach God.

Divine help in spiritual practice: When a seeker sincerely prays to God to get a particular action/thought/attitude pertaining to his spiritual practice, done through him (the seeker), a seemingly impossible task is easily accomplished by the Guru’s grace.

Receiving forgiveness for mistakes: Having committed a mistake, if one makes a prayer and surrenders unto God or the Guru, then God or Guru forgives one for the mistake. However the prayer and surrender have to be commensurate in intensity with the mistake committed.

Reducing the ego: While praying we plead before God; it is therefore the place where pride is abandoned and we humbly admit our need/human frailty as well as our dependence upon God. It therefore helps to reduce the ego faster.

Protection from ghosts: Prayer is a powerful tool that helps protect one from ghosts (demons, devils, negative energies, etc.) and creates an armour around oneself.

Increase in faith: When a prayer gets answered, faith in God or the Guru increases. Faith is the only currency on our spiritual journey

Action: All actions that are preceded by prayer for spiritual benefit are performed with spiritual emotion; hence fewer errors are committed. Thus by praying, various actions in one’s spiritual practice  occur as per the way God  would like them to happen.

Thought: So long as the mind is active, thoughts will continue. They pose an obstacle to the dissolution of the mind. Useless thoughts also cause wastage of energy. Prayer is an extremely useful tool to prevent this waste. Prayer reduces worry and enhances contemplation.

Attitude: A prayer done with spiritual emotion initiates the process of contemplation within a seeker, and this assists him in becoming introverted.
