KENDRATHIPATI DOSHA IN VEDIC ASTROLOGY

If a natural benefic planet occupies kendras (1, 4, 7 and 10) and does not own a kona simultaneously, then Kendradhipati Dosha (KD) occurs.

Exception

EFFECTS OF KENDRATHIPATI DOSHA(KD) 

The 1st, 4th, 7th and 10th houses are called the Kendras.Presence of malefic planets in Kendras reduces this inherent goodness and the gullible nature.

Kendradhipati dosha or the negative effect of the ownership of quadrants by benefics implies reduction in their beneficence. The benefic owner of a quadrant is still a benefic and does not become a malefic. Similarly, a malefic planet owning a quadrant will not remain a malefic and that does not imply that the malefic becomes a benefic. This loss of beneficence of a benefic lord of quadrant is called Kendradhipati dosha. This flaw is annulled if the planet is also well placed in a quadrant or trine. Similarly, a malefic planet owning a quadrant sheds its malfeasance and will give very good results if placed in an evil house. If instead, the planet is placed in a quadrant or trine, the loss of malfeasance may not occur fully. For example if Saturn is the lord of the 10th house for Taurus ascendant, its placement in the 12th house in debility will give excellent results like power, position and a good career. If the malefic is also the lord of a trine in addition to its ownership of a quadrant, then it becomes a Yogakaraka producing auspicious results.But for people with Sagittarius Ascendant,  Mercury will be the lord of 10th and 7th house and suffers from Kendradhipati dosha.

Virgo Ascendant      :Jupiter is 4H and 7H lord.

Libra Ascendant       :Moon is 10H lord.

Scorpio Ascendant  :Venus is 7H lord.

Sagittarius Ascendant :Mercury is 7H and 10H lord

Capricon Ascendant    :Moon is 7H lord and Venus is 10H lord.

Aquaris Ascendant       :Venus is 4H lord.

2nd degree malefic : Venus

3rd degree malefic  : Mercury

4th and less malefic : Moon

Some people are of the opinion that Kendradhipati dosha applied to Jupiter and Mercury only. One might see from the above list as to why Kendradhipati dosha applies to Jupiter and Mercury only .If Jupiter with Kendradhipati dosha occupies 9th house, it gives benefic results to the native and the native will be the luckiest.
