PLANETARY COMBINATIONS FOR GOOD EDUCATION

 In Vedic astrology good education can be predicted by analysing the 1,2,3,4,5 and 9th houses and its lords.Usually the second house is referred as the house for education.Fourth house is the second house for the second house, hence that house should also be analysed. 4th house indicates one’s regular attendance in a school or a college and studies.3rd house show’s one’s inclination to specialise in any subject.Fifth house is responsible for knowledge, memory, wisdom about music, concentration, luck etc.Fifth house house also deals with the intelligence of a person. Besides these houses 9th house indicates chances for studies further or higher education such has M.Sc, M.B.B.S, PhD etc. So it is advisable to do analysis of horoscope  to determine educational potential and profession.Mercury is the planet related to education. So its strength in the chart is the primary determinant factor.Mercury in the fiery and airy signs give sharp intellect with a flair for  mathematics. 

Some combinations for good education

     1. Venus or Mercury in 4th makes the native proficient in music and astrology respectively

    2. If Rahu conjoins either Sun or Mercury in 5th, the native becomes an expert in astrology and dealing with poisons

    3. A Sun-Mercury combination in 2nd makes one a good astrologer. If this combination is aspected by Saturn, the native becomes a mathematician

    4. Sun and Mars in 2nd makes one a logician. Saturn, Mercury and Sun in 5th makes the native an expert in philosophy

     5. A Sun-Mercury combine in either a quadrant, trine or 11th makes one a  mathematician. Venus in 2nd makes one a poet

    6. Rahu in 4th confers long life to the mother. If in 5th, the native becomes an expert in understanding inner meanings of things

     7. Jupiter in 2nd, especially when that happens to be either Sagittarius, Pisces or Cancer, makes one an expert in the Vedas

Some combinations which are not good for education

1. Debiliation of  lord of 2,4,5th houses.

2. Placement of 2, 4, 5th houses in between two malefic planets( Papakartri Yoga of 2,4,5th houses)

3. Placement of 2,4,5th house lords in between two malefic planets. ( Papakartri Yoga of lord of 2,4,5th houses)

4. If the second house is placed with malefic planets like Saturn or Rahu or both.Saturn in the 2nd makes one vindictive and a fool

5. If Mercury is placed either in Aries or in Scorpio. 

6. If Mercury is debilitated. 

7. If Mercury is aspected by Mars. 

8. If Jupiter is debilitated. 

9. If Sun is debilitated. 

    10.If the first house/ascendant and Moon is not aspected by any planets.

ASTROLOGY : SOME FACTS

1. The  bhavas or houses whose lords are in conjunction with the respective karakas become strong.
2. The lords of the 3rd, 8th and 11th houses produce evil effects to the native, while the lords of the 5th and 9th house  give good results. Even Jupiter becomes evil while owning the 3rd, 8th or 11th house, though he’ll confer wealth and fame.
3. Venus in both the 6th and 12th gives rise to fame and fortune. In a horoscope the best house for Venus to occupy is the 12th house.
4. If Rahu is in either the 4th, 5th, 10th or 11th houses, fame and affluence are guaranteed.
5. Benefics become evil by owning quadrants, while malefic planets owning quadrants confers Rajayoga
6. Houses which are aspected by Saturn become defective, as does the house in which Saturn is posited. However, if Saturn aspects the 3rd and 9th houses, they gain strength.

7. A waning Moon in the lagna makes the native dull and dependent. Opposite results are seen if Moon is waxing
8. The native becomes fortunate if Moon and Mars are either in the Lagna or the 8th house. He acquires houses if Mars joins the 4th lord.
9. If Jupiter is in the 4th with the 4th lord, the person acquires cattle.
10. Any house or lord or its karaka, if hemmed between malefics( Papakartri Yoga), produce evil results
11. If the lords of 11th and 12th conjoins, they produce good results. The 11th lord produces good results if he occupies the 3rd or 12th house
12. Only ordinary results manifest when the 9th lord is in 8th. But Jupiter as the 9th lord in 8th house yields good results.
13. Moon in the 6th makes one intelligent and cruel , whereas he’ll be fickle minded if it’s in the 3rd

COMBINATIONS FOR LUCK OR FORTUNE

Everybody wants to be lucky. Luck denotes anything that one gets by “chance”.Few people seems to be born lucky and for few bad luck follows in all their turns.Even if some people are rich they lack luck in their lives in terms of something or they can't have the luck to enjoy the money the earn. Good and bad deeds done in Past life reflects in our lives  as Luck and bad luck.

In a Horoscope 9th house and its lord  indicates Luck.Strength of Lagna or ascendant and the strength of lord of ninth house are the major factors which affect a person's luck. The karaka for 9th house is Jupiter. Placement of benefic planets like Mercury , Venus and Jupiter  gives good luck to a person. Placement of exalted plantes in 9th house or if the lord of 9th house is exalted then the person will be blessed with luck, wealth and fortune.

Certain Combinations for Luck or Fortune

• If lord of 9th house is in 9th house itself and is strong then the native will be lucky and rich.
• If Jupiter is in 9th house and the lord of 9th house is in Quadrant ( 1st,4th,7th or 10th) and the lord of ascendant is strong then the native will be very lucky.Native enjoys fortune after his teen age as the Jupiter matures in the age of 15-20.
• If Mercury is exalted or in own house or strong and the lord of 9th house is in 9th house itself then the person earns well after the age of 35 years .
• If venus is in 9th house, lord of house is strong and Jupiter is in Quadrant ( 1st,4th,7th or 10th) then the father of native will be lucky.
• If lord of 9th house is in 2nd house and lord of 2nd house is in 9th house then the person will be lucky and will get famous after the age of 35 years.
• If lord of ascendant is in 9th house and 9th lord is in ascendant and Jupiter is in 7th house then the person will be lucky and will gain great wealth and conveyances.
• A parivartana between the 9th and 11th lords or an association between these two lords indicates a fortunate native
•  If eight planets occupy four houses in pairs of two each, the native will be fortunate. The same can be predicted if there are three pairs of planets in a horoscope
•  If malefics occupy the 3rd, 6th and 11th houses, the person becomes lucky
•  If the lords of the lagna, 9th and 4th are in the 10th, lagna or 7th in association with the 10th lord, during the dasas and bhuktis of such lords, the native will become very fortunate
• It’s auspicious to have an exalted planet situated in either 5th or 9th
•  If there’s a Sun-Venus-Mercury combine in 5th with Jupiter in 11th, the Mercury Dasa will bring the native much fortune
• If Sun and 9th lord are together in the 12th, fortune through father is indicated
• The native’s father will either be fortunate or otherwise, depending on whether Sun is exalted or debilitated
•  For a Sagittarian, even a debilitated Sun will confer riches through the father
•  The placement of the lords of 9th, 12th and Sun augur well for the father, or if Jupiter and 12th lord are in 12th.
•  If both Venus and Moon are  in 12th, the native will be fortunate through his mother and wife
• If Mars or 9th lord is in 12th, the person will be fortunate in respect of his brother or father respectively
•  If Mercury conjoins the 2nd lord in 6th, the native acquires money through his enemies (or cousins and rivals)
• If Jupiter as 5th lord is exalted, the children enjoy much fortunate
• If the lord of 10th house and 3rd house lacks strength and if the lord of 9th house is debiliated or combust then the person will remain unlucky.
• If four benefics are aspected by malefics, the native won’t be very fortunate but he’ll have some wealth.
• If Rahu is in 9th house and the dispositor of Rahu is in 8th house and the lord of 9th house is debiliated then the person will be unlucky. 

COMBINATIONS FOR LUXURIOUS LIFE

In this modern era everyone is behind a luxurious life. A native can lead a luxurious life if there are certain combinations which support such yogas in chart .House of comfort is the 4th house. A benefic planet in 4th house or the benefic disposition of 4th lord gives comfort to the native. Venus and Jupiter are the main karakas which gives luxuries. The house and planet considerations which leads a person's life  to luxurious are given below.

 

• Combination of the lords of 4th and 9th house in Ascendant gives a very luxurious life to the native.
• If Jupiter is in 4th house or Jupiter aspects 4th house or if Jupiter and 4th lord combine in a quadrant or trine, happiness is an assurance
• Combination of Venus and 4th lord in 4th house gives ordinary conveyances to the native.
• For a Cancer Ascendant native,if Mercury and  Venus is in Libra,he can lead a luxurious life during Mercury Dasa and Venus Bhukti.
• Jupiter in 4th house gives luxurious vehicles to the native.
• Saturn in the 4th confers foreign residence, in dilapidated houses. It’ll also make the native hard-hearted.
• Powerful luxury yogas are generated when there is a parivartana( exchange) between the lords of either the 4th and 9th, 4th and 11th, 1st and 4th, 4th and 5th, 5th and 9th or 5th and 11th. Similar results can be seen if either the 4th and 5th lords or 1st and 9th lords are in their respective houses.
•  A luxury yoga is also generated when the 5th and 9thlords are in 9th and 10th respectively.

Meaning 

May the Sun bestow on us good health, Moon unblemished fame/Clean reputation, Mars richness, Mercury knowledge/good intelligence,  Jupiter dignity,  Venus matchless beautiful speech, Saturn happiness  always , Rahu strength of arms and and supermacy on enemies ,  Kethu prosperity of the clan.

Note :Daily recital of this mantra (9 times a day )will help to reduce the evil effects of each planets. 

DETAILS ON "KALATHRA BHAVA" ( 7th HOUSE & ITS MATTERS ) FROM PHALADEEPIKA

1. The 5th and 7th houses from the lagna or the Moon be flourished if they are associated with or aspected by benefics or their lords, if it is not so, they will not be fruitful.If there be malefics in the 12th, 4th and 8th houses or if Venus be hemmed in between two malefics or if Venus be associated or aspected by malefics the native will lose his wife (his wife will die).

2. If the lord of the 7th house occupies the 5th, the native will lose his wife or he will become sonless. If the lord of the 5th or the 8th be in the 7th, the wife of the native does not survive. If the weak Moon be in the 5th and the malefics occupy the Ascendant, 7th and 12th houses the person concerned will be without wife and children. If the Sun and Rahu occupy the 7th house, the native will suffer loss of wealth through association with women.

3. The native loses his wife if there are any of the following disposition of planets present at birth:

(a) Venus in Scorpio in the 7th house.

(b) Mercury in Taurus in the 7th house.

(c) Jupiter in Capricorn in the 7th house.

(d) Saturn in Pisces in the 7th house.

(e) Mars in Pisces in the 7th house.

However, if Mars and Saturn occupy the 7th house identical with Cancer the native will be blessed with a wife who is beautiful and of good character.

4. The native is deprived of his wife if the 7th house or its lord be associated with or aspected by malefics, hemmed in between malefics, be in his sign of debilition or an inimical sign or be eclipsed by the Sun's rays.

The native will lose his wife or will have a crippled wife, when Venus in conjunction with malefic occupies the 7th, 5th or 9th house.

The native will have illicit relations with other people's wives if Venus be in the Varga of Mars or Saturn or be aspected by these planets.

5. If Mars and Saturn be in the 7th from the Venus and Moon in any nativity, the person concerned will be wifeless and childless.

If there be a hermaphrodite planet in the 7th house, and the 11th house is occupied by two planets, the person concerned will have two wives.

A person will have two wives in the event of both the lord of the 7th and Venus being posited in a dual sign or amsa.

The number of wives should be generally ascertained from the number of planets that are in conjunction with the lord of 7th house and Venus.

6. The native will associate with as many women as is the number of planets posited in the 7th house. The number of women, who will die, will be equal to the number of malefics, and the number of benefics will represent the number of women who will survive.

Should the lord of the 7th house be a benefic endowed will strength, the native will have a wife who will be of good character and will bear children.

Even a malefic if he being lord of 7th be posited in the 7th will bless the native with a good wife.

Benefics in the 7th house will produce good effects unless they happen to be lords of the 6th, 8th or 12th house.

7. Loss of wife will result if the 2nd and 7th houses are associated with or aspected by malefics. The result will invariably be untoward in the case of malefic aspects.

Similar results may be declared from the wife's nativity if the 7th and 8th houses are similarly afflicted.

But should the above two houses be associated with or aspected by benefics, the couple will enjoy good luck and comforts.

8. If in a female's birth chart, the Moon and Saturn be together in the 7th house, the native marries again (after the first marriage).

If there be such a planetary disposition in man's nativity, he will be wifeless or childless.

If malefics in their signs of debilitation be posited in the 2nd, 7th and 8th, in female's nativity the disposition will make her a widow and in a man's chart, it will render him a widower.

9. If the 7th house from the Ascendant be an even sign and the lord of the 7th and Venus be also posited in even signs, and if the lord of the 5th and 7th possessed of strength be not eclisped by Sun's rays, the native will be blessed with wife and children.

10. The native will be happy and will be blessed with wife and children, if the lords of the 2nd, 7th and 12th be posited in kendra or trikona aspected by Jupiter and there be benefics in the 2nd, 7th and 11th to the lord of the 7th wherever he may be.

11. Note the sign and navamsa in male s nativity. The signs in which the lords of the ascendant and 7th are posited, the Janma Rashi (Moon sign) of the wife will be triangular to such sign or navamsa, or it may be the exaltation or depression sign of the lords of the 1st and 7th or it be that sign which contains the largest number of benefic dots in the Moon's Ashtakavarga of the husband.

12. The direction of the country of the wife will be indicated by the sign owned by the strongest of the three planets, namely

(1) the planet posited in the 7th house,

(2) the lord of the 7th house and

(3) Venus.Marriage timing, 

The marriage of the native should take place when the Venus or the lord of the 7th transits through a sign which is trine to the sign or navamsa occupied by the lord of the ascendant.

13. The marriage is likely to take place during the dasha of the planet

(1) occupying the 7th house,

(2) which aspects the 7th house or

(3) the lord of the 7th house. It can also take place when the lord of the ascendant transits through the sign representing the 7th house.

14. Find out who amongst

(1) the lord of the sign in which lord of the 7th is posited and the lord of the navamsa which the lord of the 7th occupies and 

(2) Venus and Moon, is stronger. The marriage will take place in the dasha of this stronger planet when Jupiter in transit passes through the sign triangular to the sign or navamsa occupied by the lord of the 7th.

15. If the lord of the 7th be posited in his sign of debilitation, be in an inimical sign, be combust or be aspected by a malefic and the 7th house be occupied or aspected by a malefic, there will be loss of wife. So say the men well versed in the science of Astrology.

CHANDRA GAYATRI MANTRA

In Vedic astrology Lagna denotes a person's body or personality while his mind is dented by Moon (Chandra) .According to vedic astrology ,Moon is a benefic planet and gives the best results if strong in the horoscope of an individual.Moon represents mind , emotions, watery diseases, common cold etc.In Vedic astrology Moon has other names likes  Chandra, Soma, Sasankh, Vidhu, Indhu, Himanshu etc. An exalted Moon or strongly placed Moon makes a person's mind strong and they will be good at decision making. But if the Moon is afflicted or weak , it will cause mental disturbances to a person , he can't concentrate completely on his work and the person will be fickle minded.

I have already mentioned significance Moon in a Horoscope in my previous posts. Debiliated or weak Moon can even cause depression. 

The best method to strengthen the Moon is to recite the Chandra Gayatri Mantra daily or the best time to chant is on Monday evenings.It improves mental health and have magical effects.

Thanno Chandra Prachodayath .

Meaning

Om, Let me meditate on God who has lotus in his flag,
Oh, God of golden colour, give me higher intellect,
And let moon God illuminate my mind.

You can recite any one of  this mantra 9 or 108 times a day.

CONJUNCTION OF SHORT LIFE

Lalkitab mentions about certain conjunctions which when present in a native's horoscope may result in short life span of the native.

• Very many planets surround Jupiter.
• Mercury, Jupiter and Venus are present in 9th house.
• The enemy planet of Jupiter namely Mercury, Venus and Rahu are in 9th house.
• Moon and Rahu conjuction in the 7 and 8 and Mwercury in 9 th house.
• If Jupiter in houses 8, 9, 10 or 11 and Mars+Mercury+ Venus are present in 7th house the native's death may occur in his 2nd year.
• If Mercury, Venus, Moon are in 5th house, native's life span is upto 2 years.

Note : If there are any other strong combinations in  in the horoscope which helps in Longevity the above results can vary.

STRENGTH OF A YOGA

A yoga is formed by more than one planet. The nature of a planet is of three types, vlz., benefic,

malefic and neutral.According to the natural classification benefics are Jupiter, Venus, well-associated Mercury and waxing Moon and malefics are the Sun, Mars,Saturn, evil-associated Mercury and waning Moon.

The benefics or benefic lords are (l) lord of Lagna, (2) lords of the 5th and 9th, and (3) lords of kendras or quadrants, when they are natural malefics.The malefics are (l) the lords of the 3rd, 6th and llth, and (2) lords of kendras when they are natural benefics.

The lords of the 2nd and l2th may be termed neutral because they give good or bad results according to their other conjunctions. The 8th lord is a malefic according to Jathaka Chandrika but for all practical purposes he may be taken as a neutral. 

The above can be classified thus :

Benefics :  Lord of 1, lords of 5 and 9, and lords of 4,7 and l0 if they are natural malefics.

Malefics : Lords of 3, 6 and 11. Lords of 4,7 and l0 if they are natural benefics.

Neutrals :Lords of 2, 8 and 12.

Of course, the 8th lord is supposed to be evil unless he be the Sun or the Moon. We shall avoid controversies and assume that the 8th lord is a neutral for the purpose of interpreting yogas.

Here an observation has to be made.In the above list of benefics, malefics and neutrals we have completely omitted to take into account the influence due to a double lordship. Thus for Aquarius,Mars owning the l0th-a quadrant-is good.In addition to the lOth he owns the 3rd also which is bad. In other words, Mars a natural malefic becoming a bsnefic lord by virtue of owning a kendra is 'influenced'by his ownership of the 3rd house.

It will be seen that excepting the Sun and the Moon all the other planets own two houses each so that whether a planet is a benefic or malefic can be judged only when both the lordships are taken into account. The nature of a lord is influenced by two factors, viz., (l) the other lordship and {2) association. The other

lordship varies with regard to different ascendants.When Pisces is Lagna, Mars owns the 2nd and 9th

houses while he owns the lst and 8th when Aries is Lagna. Thus the 'Ascendant' is of the utmost importance

while deciding the benefic and malefic lords.We shall now discuss the nature of the different planets.

Sun.-He is benefic as lord of 1,4,7, 10, 5 and 9 which is possible in regard to Leo, Taurus,Aquarius, Scorpio, Aries and Sagittarius. He is neutral as lord of 2, 11 and 8 which is possible for Cancer, Virgo and Capricorn. He is malefic as lord of 3, 6 and I l, which is possible for Gemini, Pisces and Libra.

Moon.-Benefic as lord of l, 5 and 9 which is possible for Cancer, Pisces and Scorpio. Neutral as lord of 2, 12 and 8 which is possible for Gemini, Leo and Sagittarius; and malefic as lord of 3, 6, ll,4,7 and 10 which is possible in regard to Taurus,Aquarius, Virgo, Aries, Capricorn and Libra.

Mars.-He is benefic as a lord of I and 8 (Aries),2 and 7 (Libra), 2 and 9 (Pisces), 3 and 10 (Aquarius),4 and 9 (Leo), 5 and 10 (Cancer), 5 and 12(Sagittarius), and 7 and 12 (Taurus).if you take Sagittarius Mars is benefic as lord of a trine 5 and neutral as lord of 12. But bis trinal lordship is so powerful as to overcome the l2th lordship so that he becomes a benefic.Mars is neutral as lord of I and 6 (Scorpio) and malefic as lord of 3 and 8 (Virgo), 4 and 11 (Capricorn),and 6 and ll (Gemini).

Mercury.-Benefc as lbrd of 2 and 5 (Taurus), 9 and 6 (Capricorn) and 9 and 12 (Libra) : neutral as lord of 1 and 4 (Gemini), I and l0 (Virgo), and 5 and 8 (Aquarius); malefc as lord of 3 and 12(Cancer), 4 and 7 (Pisces), 7 and l0 (Sagittarius), 8 and 11 (Scorpio), 2 and ll (Leo), and 3 and 6 (Aries).

Jupiter -Benefic as lord of 2 and 5 (Scorpio), 6 and 9 (Cancer) and 9 and 12 (Aries) ; neutral as lord of I and 4 (Sagittarius),I and l0 (Pisces),a nd 5 and 8 (Leo): and malefc a$ lord of 2 and11 (Aquarius),3 and 6 (Libra), 3 and 12 (Capricorn), 4 and 7(Virgo), 7 and l0 (Gemini), and 8 and I I (Taurus).

Venus.-Benefc as lord of I and 8 (Libra), 2 and 9 (Virgo), 4 and 9 (Aquarius), 5 and l0 (Capricorn),

and 5 and 12 (Gemini): neutral as lord of l and 6(Taurus) ; and malefic as lord of 2 and 7 (Aries), 3

and 8 (Pisces), 3 and l0 (Leo), 4 and I I (Cancer), 6 and ll (Sagittarius), and 7 and 12 (Scorpio).

Saturn.-Benefc as lord of I and 2 (Capricorn), 1 and.12 (Aquarius), 4 and 5 (Libra), and 9 and l0(Taurus) ; neutral as lord of 3 and 4 (Scorpio), 5 and 6 (Virgo), 6 and 7 (Lco), and 7 and 8 (Cancer) ; and

nmlefic as lord of 2 and 3 (Sagittarius;, I t and 12(Pisces),8a nd 9 (Gemini),a nd l0 and ll (Aries).

AN INTRODUCTION TO VEDIC ASTROLOGY YOGAS

All planetary combinations may be divided into two broad groups, viz., Yogas and Arishtas. Though by the word yoga is meant a combination, in actual practice yoga is always considered

to imply a fortunate combination. Yogas include success in every line-health, personality, success in politics, financial gains, good education,mental strength, bodily health , good wife, dutiful children, sympathetic friends and relations,righteous conduct and other sources of pleasure and enjoyment which which generally go under the name of fortunes. The Yogas may be Raja yogas (political power),Dhana Yogas (combination for wealth) or Gnana yogas (combinations for real higher knowledge and spirituality).

Arishtas generally deal with misfortunes though they are also included in the generic term Yoga. Arishtas or misfortunes include all sorts and sources of sorrows, worries, miseries, troubles, distractions, bodily and mental disturbances such as ill.health, physical and mental deformities, financial losses, ugly and bad children, quarrelsome wife,hateful relations and friends, evil temper, sinful nature and other unpleasant sources in life which go under the name of evils or misfortunes. 

Special Yogas, including what are called Nabhasa yogas, have been dealt with, with suitable illustrations wherever necessary.The difficulty arising when two or more yogas coincide

such as would be the case in respect of say Asraya and Akriti .

SPECIAL EFFECTS OF SUN

 

1.  If the placement of Sun in Quadrant or Trine in a horoscope, the native will get positive results for his deeds.
2. If Sun and Moon is in Ascendant of a native, the native will be selfish and greedy.
